Sports Today

Jurgen Klopp has opened up about genuinely Philippe Coutinho's multi-million takeoff from Liverpool.

The Brazilian left Anfield in January in the wake of securing an amazing £146million move to Barcelona.

Since landing in Spain, Coutinho has scored 10 goals and created five assits 22 appearances.

Talking only to Mirror Football reporter and Reds legend Robbie Fowler , Klopp uncovered the plans that were at that point set up to deal with Coutinho's exit and what they will keep on doing.

"What do we do?" began Klopp. "We brought in Naby Keita already, an outstanding player. We will bring in a couple more players and that will happen.

"But we had the quality of players already to finish the season higher.

"Think about the season we played without Lallana, and half a season without Coutinho. Two of the best players in the whole Premier League. They didn't play on the pitch for us.

"Can you imagine Phil Coutinho still in the team?

"And we play with the three up front and Phil at eight – that would have been nice!"
