Liverpool are set to sign Isaac Christie-Davies after the midfielder was released by Chelsea .

The 20-year-old midfielder was on trial at Anfield in March and has now won a move to the club.

Christie-Davies was not offered a new deal by Chelsea and a few clubs were checking his availability,according to ESPN .

 He is likely to head straight into the Liverpool Under 23 squad as he follows former teammate Dominic Solanke to Anfield.

Christie-Davies joined Chelsea from Brighton and won the FA Youth Cup in 2015 and 2016.

He also lifted the UEFA Youth League trophy two years ago.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to be out for six months with his injury know.

The Liverpool midfielder suffered ligament damage in the Champions League semi-final victory over Roma.

 Oxlade-Chamberlain underwent an operation, which was a success, and he has started his rehabilitation at Melwood, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool have been reluctant to put a time frame on the 24-year-old's potential return as players recover from that kind of injury at different rates.

Initially, there was hope that Oxlade-Chamberlain would be fit for the start of the 2018/19 season, but it is understood that following the surgery six months out is currently viewed as the best case scenario.
