Lionel Messi rules out Manchester City move and insists Sergio Aguero must join him at Barcelona

Lionel Messi has closed the door on moving to the Premier League - and insisted that the only way he will team up with Sergio Aguero at club level is if Barcelona buy the Manchester City striker.

The Argentine ace has admitted in an interview in his homeland that he has been tempted to move to England.

But Messi has found it impossible to quit Barca.

And after Aguero's father, Leonel del Castillo, suggested that the five-time ballon d'Or winner should team up with his son at the Etihad, the 30-year-old suggested the partnership would only happen at the Nou Camp.

Messi said: “I do not go to City. If it happens that I play with Kun it will be because he comes to me.

“I have thought about other leagues – especially the league in England – but it is very difficult to leave Barcelona.

“Where will I be better than in Barcelona?

“I am at the best team in the world, living in one of the best cities, my family is well-off, and my children have their friends. I do not want to move.”
