Zlatan Ibrahimovic: "A World Cup without me wouldn't be a World Cup"

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced: "A World Cup without me wouldn't be a World Cup."

Previous Manchester United star Ibrahimovic, 36, has officially pronounced his aim to leave retirement to play for Sweden this mid summer.

Ibrahimovic, who has quite recently marked for LA Galaxy, showed up on the US syndicated program with Jimmy Kimmel and demanded that he needs to play.

When addressed about the speculation about the World Cup and if he was going to play, Ibrahimovic replied: "I am going to the World Cup, yes.”

Ibrahimovic said: “I just said I am going to the World Cup. If I just say more, people will hang me. So I have to be careful what I say now.”

Sweden star Ibrahimovic, who scored 62 goals in 116 appearances for his country from 2001 to 2016, claims that he does not lack confidence that he can still play at the highest level.

But Ibrahimovic says he gets mobbed in the streets wherever he goes in Los Angeles.

He said: ”People are very kind with me. My confidence is very high. My mental quality is bulletproof. So whatever I would do I would be the one I am today.

"Football is the biggest sport in the world. So imagine now when you play football and you are on the top - imagine how I feel.

"In Europe football is huge, people they get crazy. People told me when you come to Los Angeles you can walk on the streets, but since day one - no.

"It is my fault, because if you play the way I do!"

He added: "It has been a couple of years and I had my eyes on Los Angeles. I wanted to give them my gift. Then I was thinking a long time. And then one day I thought I should bring myself.

“My name in the Balkan language means gold, so I would prefer that. People have difficulties pronouncing that.

"I had a vision before I came. I said when I come I know there is some earthquakes in Los Angeles and this one was me stepping in Los Angeles. I wanted to make a statement. Every movie has a good start."
