Paris Saint-Germain to 'meet with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte next week' in bid to make Italian their new boss

Paris Saint-Germain will hold a meeting with Antonio Conte next weekend as the Ligue 1 giants aim to replace Unai Emery with Chelsea boss.
Representatives from PSG have already met with Conte's brother Gianluca about a potential switch to the French capital, according to L'Equipe.

Italian Conte is likely to become available in the summer as his relationship with the Chelsea board continues to strain.

The two parties have had a running battle this season of transfers - with Conte growing frustrated by a perceived lack of investment after winning the Premier League last season.

The Blues are in danger of missing out on a top four finish in the Premier League - having fallen five points behind Tottenham.

The former Juventus manager is interested in the role - with both pecuniary and competitive reason, believing the club are ready for Champions League glory.

At the same time, Emery is on the brink of the sack at PSG after failing to guide the French club through to the Champions League quarter finals - as Real Madrid beat them 5-2 on aggregate.

PSG's Qatari owners have pumped over £1billion, including splashing a world record €198million on Neymar last summer, in a desperate attempt to join Europe's elite, along with major continental silverware.

Arsene Wenger is also thought to be on their summer wish list - with the Arsenal man under increasing pressure at the Emirates.

They are currently running away with the Ligue 1 title after pulling out a 14 point lead on Monaco.
